Project Duration ongoing
We study how faces change with age. We measure different effects of time on shape and texture and can quantify them using the 3D Morphable Model. The quantification is such that we can actively age the face realistically. Skin undergoes complex changes as it gets older, ranging from wrinkles and pigmentation to loosening tension of the tissue. We model the changes in order to actively reproduce their effects in young faces to make them look older. The models under study range from statistical analysis of shape and texture with the 3DMM to explicit models of local skin features, such as pigmentation spots and wrinkles.
